How to Listen to VoyagerRadio

Instructions and Other Help for VoyagerRadio Listeners

Are you new to Internet radio? Not sure how to get your computer to start the broadcast? Have no fear--help is here! "Tuning in" to an Internet radio broadcast (also known as a webcast) is fairly straightforward. You simply need to setup your audio player the first time you listen to the webcast. The following instructions explain you how to do that--or you may skip this page and look at a visual example of how to tune in to the webcast.

Launching VoyagerRadio

To launch VoyagerRadio, simply click one of the Launch links at the top of any page of this website. The first time you do this you will need to follow an easy setup process--a window will pop up to guide you through this setup. (As part of the process you will be asked to register with Live365, our streaming host--this is a service we use to reduce costs.)

Click the appropriate link below to begin the setup process, which only takes about a minute:

Launch VoyagerRadio Hi-Fi
(for cable or DSL Internet connections)

Launch VoyagerRadio Lo-Fi
(for 56k dialup Internet connections)

(Please be patient if the window that pops up
appears to be blank for several seconds.
It will begin to fill up with information momentarily.)

That's it! Once you've done this setup you won't have to do it again. The next time you visit VoyagerRadio.com, simply click one of the Launch links to begin the webcast immediately.

What is Live365?

Live365 provides hosting for a network of independent Internet radio stations. We use them to reduce bandwidth costs, the most expensive aspect of webcasting. Live365 hosts thousands of Internet radio streams and was listed as the top Internet radio network on Arbitron's ratings for most of last year.

Because they host our stream, Live365 requests registration in order to listen to VoyagerRadio. Registration is free and quite harmless; we've been registered with Live365 for years and they've always been responsible with the information we submitted.

Tips and Additional Assistance

  • Don't worry if you have a slow (dialup) Internet connection--VoyagerRadio is available for both broadband and 56k dialup Internet users.
  • Bookmark VoyagerRadio in both your Internet browser and your audio player so that you'll have quick and easy access to your favorite chillout Internet radio station!
  • VoyagerRadio broadcasts live sometimes--unfortunately, the technology that allows this also cuts off listeners at the start of every live show. So if you find yourself "tuned out" by your computer, tune back in a few seconds later--you may find that you're about to catch a live show! (The best way to catch a live show, however, is by subscribing to my newsletter.
  • Please contact me if you still have problems listening to this webcast. I'll be happy to assist you with listening to VoyagerRadio--I'd rather have you listen than not!
