Welcome to 'Transmitting to Earth'. I'm Charssun and I'll be your host. This blog and podcast is a byproduct of VoyagerRadio.com and is intended to provide the most timely information about this Internet radio station. It is also intended to be a fun and accessible electronic journal with commentary focusing on Internet radio, podcasting and webcasting issues and technologies, music, and some of my other interests. I also offer personal perspective about being an Internet radio broadcaster (and podcaster).

Voyager Exits Solar System and Encounters New Species, Pepe Deluxé

In recent weeks the Voyager 1 became a hotly debated topic as scientists began arguing over whether or not the spacecraft has left our solar system. Voyager has certainly traveled farther than any other object humankind has sent into space, and once it is proved that the spacecraft has crossed the boundaries of our solar system, it will go down in history as the first to do so.

Voyager has also encountered a new species, an amalgamation of sounds which calls itself Pepe Deluxé. There is some speculation as to what caused this cosmic sonic disturbance, and whether it may have been the result of a recent space storm. Whatever its origin, it is clear that Pepe Deluxé has been exposed to a wide variety of music and is intent on rocking our world in an entirely new way. Though not always downtempo, Pepe Deluxé has certainly become a fixture in my ears since I first heard its music, so VoyagerRadio is now transmitting several tracks from its two official releases, Super Sound and the more recent BEATitude. If you're in Los Angeles tonight, be sure to catch Pepe Deluxé live at the Transistor Lounge. Tomorrow night it'll be in Portland, Oregon and Friday it'll deejay in Seattle, Washington. Check Pepe Deluxé's schedule at its webspace on the Emperor Norton Records website to see when it'll be arriving in your town. And if you're in Canada, don't think you're off the hook--Pepe will be causing a disturbance at Fez Batik on November 21st.

If you absolutely can't make the Pepe Deluxé show tonight, be sure to tune in to VoyagerRadio to hear some of its wonderfully eclectic music in mp3PRO quality--but don't blame me when you regret having missed the show!
