Welcome to 'Transmitting to Earth'. I'm Charssun and I'll be your host. This blog and podcast is a byproduct of VoyagerRadio.com and is intended to provide the most timely information about this Internet radio station. It is also intended to be a fun and accessible electronic journal with commentary focusing on Internet radio, podcasting and webcasting issues and technologies, music, and some of my other interests. I also offer personal perspective about being an Internet radio broadcaster (and podcaster).

Third Coast Festival Broadcast Airs Tonight

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 10 pm. Pacific Time local public radio station KPCC will be airing the 2003 Third Coast Festival Broadcast, the culmination of the Third Coast International Audio Festival. The Third Coast Festival is "a celebration of the best feature and documentary work heard worldwide on the radio and the Internet", and includes a competition which "celebrates creative, compelling and revealing documentary work that offers new insights and perspectives to listeners". A top honor of the event is the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Festival Broadcast will included a wonderfully entertaining acceptance speech by this year's winner, Joe Frank.

Should you miss this broadcast, or find yourself living somewhere other than Los Angeles, please check the list of stations carrying the Third Coast Festival Broadcast to see when the event will be airing in your neck of the woods. And if you've already missed this broadcast, you'll still be able to listen to Joe Frank's acceptance speech at his website, JoeFrank.com. (You can also listen to some of Joe Frank's shows, too.)

Enjoy the broadcast, folks--if you love radio, this is where you'll want your ears to be tuned in to tonight.
